Please arrive in Murmansk by 18:00, settle into your chosen accommodation and leave the evening free for our first Northern Lights outing. The departure may be as early as 19:00 or around 21:00; we confirm the time in advance after checking the forecast.
We leave the city lights behind and look for a suitable viewing location. Your guide follows the cloud cover and aurora forecasts, adjusting the route to the conditions that evening. The outing lasts approximately 3–5 hours, including the journey from Murmansk and back.
Between stops, you can warm up in the vehicle. Hot tea and snacks are provided, and your guide shares stories about the aurora and helps with your camera. If the Northern Lights appear, photos of you with the aurora are included and shared afterwards through a cloud link.
Two Northern Lights outings are included in your package. We choose the second evening according to the forecast and the rest of the programme. If bad weather prevents an outing, we try to move it to another suitable evening during your stay. Seeing the lights depends on clear skies and aurora activity.
The road to Teriberka takes us across the open tundra to the Arctic Ocean coast. This is a full-day coastal excursion, with the route and walking stops adjusted to the weather and road conditions.
In the old fishing village, we visit the ship graveyard, where abandoned vessels recall Teriberka’s fishing past. There is time by the sandy beach to see the beached fishing boat, the whale skeleton and the giant seaside swing, and to take photographs by the sea.
We also explore Teriberka Nature Park. At Dragon Eggs Beach, rounded boulders cover the shore; the Battery Waterfall area shows another part of this rocky coastline. Expect outdoor walking on uneven ground, with ice and snow possible in winter. Nature park admission is included, and the accessible walking route is chosen for the conditions on the day.
We allow time for lunch in Teriberka. You choose and pay for your meal from the menu; lunch is not included in the package. This is a land excursion without a boat trip. We return to Murmansk afterwards, with a Northern Lights outing possible that evening if it fits the forecast and programme.
With sufficient snow, an optional snowmobile-towed sleigh transfer may be available to reach the coastal sights. The estimated supplement is RUB 1,500–2,000 per person. Availability and the final price are confirmed the day before the Teriberka excursion; the transfer is not included in the tour price.
Visit Husky Camp, meet the dogs and take a 1 km husky-sled ride along the prepared winter route. There is time to see the huskies up close and take photographs, as well as to enjoy the ride itself. The team explains how to sit in the sled and follow the safety instructions.
The programme also includes a snowmobile-towed sleigh ride and a separate 60-minute snowmobile ride. Two guests share one snowmobile. The necessary equipment and safety briefings are included, with the operator confirming participation and driving requirements before the activity. All snow-based rides require suitable snow cover and prepared routes.
Lunch at Husky Camp is included: pelmeni, or dumplings. After lunch and the activities, we return to Murmansk.
Explore Murmansk with your guide, from Five Corners Square and the Cod monument to harbour views and the Waiting Woman monument. The route also introduces the memorial to sailors who died in peacetime and the Saviour on the Waters Church, with stops adjusted to the day’s schedule.
Continue to the marine terminal and step on board the Lenin icebreaker museum. Admission is included. The museum visit follows its available session times; we confirm the language before booking, as the on-board tour may be in Russian. English-language accompaniment is provided on the programme excursions.
The final-day programme finishes no earlier than 16:00. Check your onward flight or train time with us before buying tickets, and allow extra time for an airport transfer and check-in. Airport transfers are booked and paid for separately.
