Prepare for your trip to Murmansk & Teriberka
A little planning makes your Arctic trip more comfortable. Pack for wind and changeable weather, leave room for flexible timings and tell us about your group before you arrive.

Getting here and getting around
Murmansk is the usual starting point for our programmes. Send your flight or train details when arranging arrival and departure transfers. Your quote should name the meeting point, destination, vehicle and luggage allowance.
Teriberka and remote accommodation require separate journey planning. On winter dates, road access can affect the order of excursions. Avoid planning a long coastal excursion immediately before a flight.
What to pack
For every season
Bring a windproof and waterproof outer layer, comfortable footwear with a good grip, a small day bag and any personal essentials. Coastal wind can make a cool day feel much colder.
For winter and aurora evenings
Pack thermal base layers, a warm mid-layer, insulated boots, a hat, gloves and a scarf or neck warmer. Outdoor aurora stops involve standing in the cold.
For boat trips
Bring extra warm layers and protect your camera or phone from spray. Follow the crew’s instructions about life jackets and moving around the boat.
For photography
Bring charged batteries and spare power. Keep electronics warm between stops. A tripod can help with northern-lights photographs.
Choose your season
Our three- and four-day Arctic programmes start from 1 September. Snow activities start from 1 December and depend on sufficient snow and venue conditions.
Northern-lights outings need darkness and suitable conditions. Summer’s bright nights are better suited to coastal scenery and sea trips. Check the programme and season for each activity before booking.
Food and dietary requests
Meals are not included unless your quote explicitly says otherwise. We can reserve a restaurant table; you choose your dishes and pay the restaurant directly.
For private groups, we can help arrange a food pre-order. Tell us about allergies and dietary requirements: vegetarian, vegan, Jain, no egg, no beef, no pork, halal, gluten-free or dairy-free. We check individual requests with the restaurant.
